I worked as Maker & Interaction Designer (Accenture title: Creative Full stack Developer Team Lead) within Industrial Design Industry X, formerly van Berlo. I did lead client project and joined in as an expert in others, as user researcher in technical professional fields and supported teams in building quick or complex prototypes. I also worked on making people understand and use the power of prototyping as much as possible; especially in technical complex projects this was highly valued.

Repairability
Our studio had quite some projects around repairability. I made a tool within Figma that allowed designers to draw a disassembly map, which would instantly get a repair index calculation. This created more interactive and intuitive understanding of the repair index compared to filling in Excel sheets and allow for explanation and experimentation.
Complex industrial clients
I created a configuration system to an industrial client. This lead to a visualisation of all systems, an extension for Visual Studio Code and a Domain Specific Library that allowed for scripted configuration. It also allowed older systems to be imported; which than would highlight errors, potential issues and allowed LLMs to scout for inconsistencies.
Rescue drones
For Wings for Aid we created a drop zone protection tool that communicates with bluetooth long range to the operator of the drop zone. For this we build an Android app and made the drop zone safety detection using a YOLO model. This made sure the rescue goods are safely delivered.
Physical AI Kitchen
For the DDW we wanted to show what AI could offer for general users (as opposite of the DDW 2025 where the focus was more professional). At Accenture we have some clients in the kitchen consumer electronics which we wanted to get more traction with. In the early stages I focussed on the experience and research; how do people cook what support is needed, later on in the project I lead the technical efforts (computer vision, scale, writing a driver for the touchpad) and integrated the whole system.
Rail Demo
For the Innotrans fair (the biggest public transport fair in Europe) we were asked to show what Visual Language Models could offer in the domain of train repair. So we quickly (within two weeks) built a demo that shows what it could offer. Due to the time restrictions all interactions were faked by a light sensor and pushbuttons behind the bearing. But still the story came across.
Prototyping
For many projects I was the go to person to build anything that touches the digital and physcial domain. We build quite some computer vision projects but also more electro-mechanical. I also build tools for prototyping that were used by other Accenture studios and were great to engage clients in the prototyping process.
Research
I joined the research team; which was a great since I could bridge technical knowledge, ethnographic fieldwork and design for technical clients. I immersed myself into weirdly interesting fields; from blood packaging until alarm systems. Always combining technical know how, prototyping skills and research capabilities.
Prototyping Culture and Tools
I did organise some workshops where I would share my tools, experiences and approaches. This allowed other designers to iterate faster, build bridges between the physical and digital world and encouraged the prototype early, fail early mindset.
